Relay is a risky racing poker dice game that can accommodate two or more players. The goal is to roll and re-roll dice to score points in a race to 500.

This game is a Junior original, created by Louie Mantia. Unlike most poker dice games, this game does not revolve around creating Poker hands.

Gameplay

Goal

The goal of Relay is to advance your position in the race against your opponent without stumbling.

Your Turn

When your turn begins, roll two dice. You can roll as many times as you’d like during your turn to advance in the race. Add points to your score only when your turn ends.

There are four possible outcomes of your roll.

If you roll two different sides, advance 10 points.

If you roll two identical sides, advance 50 points.

If you roll one Ace, you advance 0 points and your turn ends.

If you roll two Aces, your entire progress is nullified and your turn ends.

Now it’s the next player’s turn.

Ending

The player who crosses the finish line with 500 points wins!

Strategy

In this game, you can make great strides, but every roll contains a risk of stumbling and losing your progress. Be careful not to get too greedy, especially if you’ve accumulated a decent amount of points during your turn. You might be back at the starting block!
